Delete Your Whirl Data
Whirl is operated by Imagine Reality Integration Systems. This page explains how to request deletion of some or all of your data without deleting your Whirl account, and what happens when you do.
1. How to Request Data Deletion
By Email
To request deletion of some or all of your data without deleting your Whirl account, contact us by email:
- Send an email to support@whirl.app from the email address associated with your Whirl account.
- Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request".
- Include your username and specify which data you would like deleted (for example: uploaded media, generation history, posts, comments, or messages), or state that you want all data deleted while keeping your account.
Want to Delete Your Entire Account?
If you would like to delete your entire account and all associated data instead, you can do so directly in the Whirl app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, or follow the instructions on our Delete Account page.
2. Data Deletion & Retention
When we receive your verified request, we will delete the data you specified from our active systems. Your account will remain active. Below is a summary of how your data is handled:
Data You Can Have Deleted
- Uploaded media, generated artworks, and AI generation history.
- Posts, comments, reactions, challenge entries, and community activity.
- Direct messages and attachments.
- Profile details such as your display name, bio, and profile image.
- Personal identifiers you ask us to remove from our active databases.
Data Retained
- Data required to keep your account functional (such as your login credentials), unless you delete your account.
- Anonymized usage data for internal analytics.
- Transactional records required for legal, tax, or security purposes (such as fraud prevention).
- Billing records retained for up to 7 years for legal compliance.
- Diagnostic and security logs retained for up to 90 days.
Data deletion requests are completed within 30 days of your verified request. Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered, except for information we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup purposes.
